Grey Makoni (catering manager) and his team were recognised for the wonderful and innovative service they provide to our residents, staff, volunteers and visitors to Carrigoran House at the NHI Care Awards in November 2018. Carrigoran House won the overall award for Excellence in Dining and Nutrition services. This is testament to the personalised nutritional varied menu that is lovingly put together for our residents and all who dine at our Nursing Home, our Day Service which also is Day Centre of the Year for 2018 and our Assisted Living Apartments.
Our book ‘Of Pleasant Days Gone By‘ is a selection of memories and musings, contributed by guests at the Health & Wellness Centre, Carrigoran. Compiled by Brigid Liddy it recalls life in 20th Century Ireland – before rural electrification, before running water in homes and before most families even had a car! The stories are both happy and sad – but all are true experiences. The book has held the No.1 Bestseller spot in Paperback Non-Fiction for several weeks now.
Reviews by respected author and journalist Cormac Mac Connell can be read on the Irish Examiner website www.irishexaminer.com , the ‘Irish Voice’ American website www.irishvoice.com , as well as www.irishcentral.com.
