Heritage Week 2016


This years Heritage week event was a wonderful success, with almost 130 people from the community attending the Health & Wellness Centre to view the movie “Older than Ireland”.

Feedback from attendees was glowing all round with everyone expressing their enjoyment of the event.

Inspector John Ryan, Garda Siochana, Maria Molloy Chair, Implementation Team, Chair Age Friendly, Michael Neylon, co-ordinator Clare Age Friendly, Mary O Dowd, Health & Wellness Centre, Carrigoran House, Paul Ryan, Citizens Information Officer, Claire Delaney, Community Services  for  Older People HSE Mid West,Gerry Kelly, Chair, Alliance Board Clare Age Friendly, Evelyn Henry, Older Persons Forum and Secretary, Older Peoples Council, Fiacre Hensey, General Manager Clarecare and Maria Molloy Chair, Implementation Team, Chair Age Friendly, at the launch of Clare Age Expo 2016 which will takes place on Friday April 15th & Saturday April 16th,  in partnership with the Clare Age Friendly County Programme,  at the  award winning Health & Wellness Centre in Carrigoran, in New Market on Fergus. The 2 day event with free admission This 2 day event will showcase health & social services in Co. Clare. Key note speaker Dr Eamon O ‘Shea   from NUIG on  will address the conference on Friday April 15th and on Saturday, while events include a live  exercise & relaxation programme.  On both days, there will be a large exhibition of both voluntary & commercial services in Co Clare and routine health screening will be available. To celebrate there will be a tea dance on the Saturday afternoon.

Follow the North Star and come and see the Living Crib at Carrigoran House.  The event will take place over two days 12th and 13th December from 2 – 6 pm each day.  A Christmas Fair will also take place in the Day Centre. Refreshments – Mulled Wine – Stalls- Raffles.  This Event is supported by Shannon and District Lions Club and Muse Productions.
